I’ve had optimism until that conversation held tonight that just tore me down. I understand what it was supposed to be: a reality check. Something to make me realize that I’ve been slacking off.

I'll Meet You There
We made it to Michigan in about 5 1/2 hours. Hopefully this weekend will be worth the awful car ride where I drifted in and out of sleep. No big deal. Tomorrow should be fun. Family, going out on the water, and putting up with my crazy cousins.

A Pleasant Surprise
After not receiving any sort of contact from All State, waiting in anticipation as the others from my district who auditioned receive their rejection (and two acceptance emails,) I finally got confirmation:
I made the All State Pit Orchestra on flute. They only took one in the state, and that flute player is me.
Wow.
