I'm proud..
to be a Marching Sequoit. Tonight’s rehearsal was a snapshot of what our season can amount to. We can be something great. We will be something great.
I know we have it in us, guys. Keep pushing. We can do it.

The Risk
wow. freakin’ wow. :)
As if music couldn’t make me happier. <3 Community Band was great; I’m getting better parts each time we get a new piece. Tonight I asked if I could join the Swing Band. Without hesitation, Holly said yes. :) I have to say, there’s a special place in my heart for my alto sax. There’s just something special about jazz, something different and fun that has found a crevice to...

The fundamental question: Are you happy?
I asked my friend this question the other day. Frustrations in life happen every day, which leads me to another question. Should your happiness be limited to the expense of others? You have one life to live, one time to make it count, one time to give it your all.
So, ask yourself. Are you happy?
Right now, I can honestly say I am. My grades are not...
I love this picture. <3
I know I’ve been posting a lot lately. But I’ve had a lot to say.
Jordan Jones, I missed you so much. I’m so happy we caught up tonight. I don’t think you realize how much I’ve wanted to hang out with you lately. <3 Derrick Kolpanen, I’m excited you’re home!!! :) Alexander Gilbert Torres, the video you sent me almost...
Drinking mocha frappés, eating McDonald’s, and talking with Jordan Jones makes life awesome. I missed him.
Trevor Olsen makes me happyyyyy. <3
It’s beautiful out. Time for fall clothes. >:) Seeing Uncle Dan’s new baby, Mitchell, today. CAN’T WAIT. This kid is going to grow up so happy. <3 And we share the same birthday!!!! Freakin’ sweet. I love family visits.
I love fall. HappyHappyHappy
Friday
Thank goodness it’s Friday. I could use the rest. It was a productive day, even though I’m finding myself to become more tired as the weeks go on. I’m hanging in there.
I spoke with Langenkamp today about Bio. I’m gonna stick with it. If it gets worse, I’ll talk to him again. After discussing college options for me, we figured it’s best I stay in it and take...
Burn
I conducted Bacchanale tonight on center podium. DJ, I wish you were there to hear it. You’re gonna love the sound that band is making for ya. :) I miss people that are gone right now; whether you’re one of my friends in college, on a college visit, or sick, just know that you’re in my thoughts all of the time and I miss you terribly.
Good rehearsal tonight. I love when we...

I am Jewish and I live in an area mixed with Jews and Muslims.. As I was walking to synagogue for Jewish New Year we crossed a group of muslims walking to mosque for Eid. They wished us ‘Shana Tova’ and we wished them ‘Eid Mubarak’. GMH for Coexistence.
Coexistence ftw. <3 <3 <3 I love these kinds of stories. Where people of different religions and races get along.

You are not judged on your attitude, but by what people think your attitude is.

“Alex Hoffman.. I just wanted to call and let you know that I just got an iced tea from McDonald’s and it made me think of you. I miss you. But also that it’s late and you shouldn’t be up. So get some sleep.” -Danielle Stancill
Little things. The little things that get you through your day.

The weekend isn’t over, but much has happened over the past two days. Services have, once again, helped me through the hard times. They help with the healing. I feel so much better. Yes, the hurt is still there, but going to temple has taken away so much of the pain. There will be a memorial held for GNP on October 17th at ISU, and I will definitely be making the three hour drive with...

GNP. One man, millions of memories.
Tonight I had a Yom Kippur service. Yom Kippur is the Jewish holiday known as, “The Day of Atonement.” (Feel free to look it up for more info, it’s really a beautiful holiday.) Each year it features a cello player to perform the Kol Nidre, a prayer that begins the Yom Kippur service. The haunting melodies of the cello in collaboration with...
Staying up until 12am talking to someone who makes you smile every five minutes has its’ advantages. I dunno, I’m not used to feeling like this.
I’m happy.
Someday you’ll see that you treat people terribly. That you wasted your time having a negative attitude towards 90% of the people around you. That being incredibly immature and saying awful things about people you barely know is pointless. We have one life to live and you’re wasting it by making people feel crappy about themselves?
I feel sorry for you and those who are friends with...

Bliss
The weekend was a huge success. I was with amazing people day and night. Great time!
I’ve had a personal experience recently that only a few know about (and for a good reason). I won’t share, but I have to say that I’m grateful for the results. I definitely learned my lesson, and I’m truly appreciative that everything turned out for the better.
And a shout out to all of...

Rosh Hashanah
So many good things came from the past two days.
L’Shanah Tovah. 5771 will be a wonderful year. I know it. :) After two days of services, I feel refreshed again. The music is uplifting, Cantor Davis’ voice is phenomenal and the choir is great, the prayers speak to me, seeing family is wonderful, but most of all, Rabbi Serotta’s sermons are what hit me the hardest. The first...
No One Is Alone
Life is a precious thing. ( Kyle & Steven, I know you told me not to make a big deal out of this, but I needed to say SOMETHING! :D )
When you come close to facing death, (not that I have) it puts things into perspective. But when you’re faced with a situation when someone very dear to you could have very easily lost their life, you realize miracles can happen. They happen every...
Derrick Jack Kolpanen, I’m extremely proud of your placement into MYA. You should be proud, as well. :) Music will take you to a million and one places, emotionally and physically, and you just have to let it.
<3 All State in the morn’.
For all of those that wished me a happy birthday yesterday, thank you so much. It really was a special sweet sixteen. :) Celebrating tonight with a football game, All State rehearsals this weekend, and my birthday party next weekend! A couple shout outs to a few specific people-
Emily Welsh- YOUR CARD WAS BEAUTIFUL. Seriously. You’re such a wonderful person. :) :) :) Jordan/DJ- I love you....
30MIN.
Tonight was what I needed.
Night out with the Hoffmans at Ed Debevic’s in the great city of Chicago. I couldn’t ask for anything better. I love my family. I loved tonight. The waitress hit on my grandpa, cracked jokes, called my grandma cheap, and told Bella and I we were brats. Ed Debevic’s is by far one of my favorite places I’ve ever been. It was Robin, my papa, grandma Cynde, Uncle Ben,...
